Inspired by true events, “Jesus and the Black Messiah” stars Oscar nominee Daniel Kayuula as Fred Hampton.

The film centers on the life of Fred Hampton about a year before he was assassinated in 1969 in Chicago. He was 21 years old when he was murdered by the Chicago police after being identified as a radical threat by the FBI. He was the leader of the Illinois Black Panther Party. The film also stars Martin Sheen as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover as William O’neal plays the Judas of the title. The film is available in theaters and on HBO Max.
