Daunte Wright, 20, shot and killed by Minneapolis police after traffic stop

This past Sunday afternoon, Daunte Wright in the city of Brooklyn Center, was pulled over for a traffic violation. The officers discovered he had a warrant for his arrest, and when they tried to take the him into custody he allegedly attempted to get back into his car. An officer fired a weapon, shooting Wright, who then drove his car until it hit another vehicle, no major injuries reported from the passenger his girlfriend and the driver of the vehicle that was hit. Paramedics were called but Daunte was pronounced dead at the scene.

Protests has since erupted overnight in the city, with protestors being met with police in riot gear, facing rubber bullet shots, being tear gassed, and damaging police cars along the way. Daunte Wright’s mother has since gone public asking the protestors to be peaceful.

In an interview shared on Twitter by local KARE reporter Chris Hrapsky, Wright said she was on the phone with her son around the time he was shot by police.

I heard the police officer come to the window and say, ‘Put the phone down and get out of the car,’ and Daunte said, ‘Why?’ And he said, ‘We’ll explain to you when you get out of the car,’” she recalled. The phone cutting soon after her hearing a scuffle noise. The mother called back for the girlfriend to answer confirming he had been shot.

Tension in America is tight with the ongoing trial of Derek Chauvin the murderer of George Floyd in another police killing from last year.

Alabama Rapper CHIKA causes twitter uproar after announcing retirement

Grammy nominated female rapper/singer CHIKA has apparently decided to quit the music industry citing the toll on her mental health. A decision she seems to have made prior to twitter, but after the post was met with a on-slew of negative replies and comments. CHIKA responded to the backlash causing the controversy due to her ‘wishing death’ on those who continued the online abuse.

I don’t give a fuck about any of you stans being suicidal,” she began. “In fact, I hope you all are. Because guess what? I am too and have been, and it has very little to do with you guys because nothing you do matters. Let me repeat that: nothing you do matters. You’re nobody. The only thing you do is dogpile on top of people’s other mental problems and make them worse. I came on here and said I was retiring because that’s where I’m at — physically, mentally and emotionally.

And you stupid bitches flooded my comments immediately, not know what the fuck I’m going through. You want me to give a good god damn about you and your stupid ass fifth grade stan friends? No, you can kill yourself too. Let’s do it together. Let’s make a suicide pact, you dumb fucks.”

She doubled down on her statements and further explained her retirement announcement.

“today, i shared that I was thinking of retiring because the mental toll being in the industry has taken on me is not something you bounce back from easily,” she said. “I’ve told my team, i’ve told my therapist, i’ve told friends and acquaintances. today i told twitter. what followed was a hoard of psychotic fans rejoicing in the decline of my mental health, harassing me as if I spoke to them first. when you have depression, the negative self talk you have towards yourself is deafening.

now imagine a slew of weirdos dogpiling on top of thoughts you already have to fight off yourself. it’s not fucking cool, it’s not ‘trolling’ or ‘stan culture,’ you’re pushing people to a point of no return. and no, i don’t feel bad for wishing death on people who shit like that cuz you deserve the same fate as the people you effect.”

We hope it ain’t truly so, but mental wellness comes first and Chika has never been shy about her struggles.
