Chances are if you have been through the California streets lately you’ve heard of up-and-coming American rapper ‘Lil Blurry’. This handsome young guy made it big after the successful achievements from his last years singles “Emotions”, and “Now I Made It”. The proof is in the pudding here, that with a little dedication, and consistency the sky’s the limit. Lil Blurry began posting music to the popular site ‘Sound Cloud’, and began building his fan base at a young age. With his own signature hair-cut, and lit personality, it comes to no surprise he build a fan-base from 0 to over 200k Instagram followers. Staying grounded and humble, it was only a matter of time before he rubbed elbows with one of the goat’s in the world of Hip Hop, Boosie Badazz. Boosie and Blurry exchanged a few messages over Instagram and eventually met in person. Boosie who is no stranger to hard work, saw the light in the budding artist and signed him to his record label. Their debut project is still in the works, but I had the opportunity to chat with this cutie about his accolades. Take a read below, and make sure you check out his latest hit single ‘Lie’, out now!! We posted his video on the site in case you haven’t seen it yet.
Q. How did you feel when you found out you would be working with Boosie and how did it come about?
A. When Boosie first hit me I was just really shocked and felt blessed for a legend to believe in me, and want to work.
Q. Who is your biggest inspiration?
A. My biggest inspiration is my dad. He’s been making music my entire life and taught me how to sing, write music, and play instruments. My musical inspirations are Justin Timberlake, Usher, Post Malone and Drake.
Q. If you could work with anyone in the industry who would it be?
A. I have a single dropping with Dj Khaled this year which is like a dream come true, but if I could work with anybody right now, I think it would be dope to work with Swae Lee….all he drops is hits.
Q. How do you feel about the diversity with so many female rappers right now, and do you have a favorite?
A. I love it! I think the game has changed so much since last year. My favorite is Kehlani.
